Asians are tagged as
"ricevores" because our meal is incomplete without rice. When I was
in grade school my mom taught me how to cook perfect steamed rice, when we say
“perfect” it should not too sticky (like rice cake)
Today, we will cook steamed
rice.
Ingredients:
Water
Rice
Procedure:
Rinse or wash the rice
twice.
Add water; use your finger
to measure. The ratio should be 1:1 for example (in your pot) if the height of
the rice is 1/2 inch then your water should have same height. You can add
liitle water or you can reduce it, depend s on the type of your rice.
Place the pot over a
moderate to high heat.
When the rice comes to a
rolling boil, turns down the heat to the minimum possible, and continues
simmering for five more minutes or depends on the size of your cooking pot.
Check the rice; Use your
spatula to check if the rice is already cooked.
