Siopao is tasty, floppy bun that has variety filling, but one of the most popular is Asado siopao.
Steaming is the original way of making it but later on it has evolved in way of cooking. In this episode I tried the original way and this is my first time to make siopao I've never done this in normal serving even in 1:3 scale.
First I made the filling Asado, here are the ingredients that you need;
Cooking Oil
Garlic
Onions
Chicken cut into cubes
Oyster sauce
Pepper and salt
Thyme
Water
Star anise
Here's the way of making Asado.
For bun's ingredients
Active yeast
Milk
Cooking oil
Salt
Sugar
white Flour
For steaming:
water
vinegar (to whiten the bun)
But my finish product it didn't whiten my bun and i don't know why :(
Here's the video on how to make dough, on how to assemble the Siopao and how to steam.
