Tiny Pinakbet or Pakbet (Vegetable Stew with Shrimp Paste)


Pakbet or Vegetable stew is a vegetable Filipino recipe, originated in Ilokano, usually they add pork but if you are vegetarian you have an option not to add it. You can also alternate the shrimp paste to fish sauce or salt.

INGREDIENTS;

  • Bitter melon (ampalaya)                              
  • Finger lady (okra) 
  • Garlic
  • Onions
  • Tomatoes
  • Water
  • Squash
  • Shrimp paste (bagoong)
  • Cooking oil
  • Sweet potato (kamote)
  • String beans (Sitaw)
  • Fish sauce and pepper




Let's begin cooking!










1. Heat the pan and put cooking oil

2. Sauté the garlic, onions, shrimp paste and tomato.

3.  Add the squash and sweet potato and water.

4. Cover and let it simmer.

5. Uncover, add the bitter melon, okra and string beans.

6. Cover the pan and cook over high heat, bring it to the boil.

7. Cook until the vegetables are done. Don't overcook because the vegetables will lose their bright colors and become mushy.

8. Taste it, add fish sauce or pepper to taste. 


9. Serve it with hot steamy rice.

MIniature Cooking; Tiny Banana Roll (Turon)


Turon is one of favorite snacks (meryenda) of Filipino. It is easy to prepare and has only 3 ingredients egg roll, banana and sugar for coating, and if you want to make it special you can add Jackfruit. On this recipe instead of Jackfruit I add ripe mango :)





INGREDIENTS:

  • Saba (Cardaba banana) cut in half lengthwise
  • Spring roll wrapper
  • Ripe Mango (Optional)
  • White Sugar for coating or you can use brown sugar
  • Cooking oil enough for deep frying




Let's start cooking!!!



1)     Place the banana and mango ripe in the spring roll.

2)    Wrap and roll into the shape of egg roll.

3)    Secure the roll using water.

4)    Coat the banana roll in white sugar.

5)    Heat the oil in cooking pan.

6)    Fry until the color turns golden brown

7)    Remove it from pan and drain it using paper towel.





Serve it with your favorite beverages.

Mini Breakfast: Scrambled egg. Sausage and Garlic bread.

Breakfast is indeed a very important meal. A good breakfast fuels you up and gets you ready for the day. 

According to the American Dietetic Association, children who eat breakfast perform better in the classroom and on the playground, with better concentration, problem-solving skills, and eye-hand coordination.

In this video I made 3 recipes scrambled egg. sausage and garlic bread.

Ingredients:

SCRAMBLED EGG

  • Egg
  • Butter
  • Minced Onions
  • Salt


SAUSAGE

  • Cooking oil
  • Sausage 

GARLIC BREAD

  • Bread

  • Garlic

Tiny Stir Fried Bean Sprouts and Tofu (Guisadong Togue)

This is the first ever to try the mini cookware and I do not intend to put the video on youtube. But because many people liked the first episode, I decided to put it as well. Anyways the ginissang togue is a healthy meal and perfect for those vegetarian. It is composed of cabbage, spring sprout and tofu.

Here are the following ingredients to make it tasty;
  • Tofu
  • Onion
  • Garlic
  • Fish sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Cabbage 
  • Bean sprouts (Togue)
  • Vegetable oil


Procedure:

1. Fry the tofu until color turns golden brown then set aside. (slice the tofu into small squares)

2. Sauté the garlic, onion.

3. Add fish sauce

4.  Add togue

5. Put the cabbage, and then cover it.

6. Let it simmer.

7. Add pepper to taste.








Serve!

Tiny Chopsuey

In Filipino cuisine,chop suey is composed of mixed vegetables like cauliflower,chayote,bell peppers and snow peas and meat like pork,chicken,beef,chicken or pork liver, and cuttlefish balls.
It is typically served with rice but can become the Chinese-American form of chow mein with the addition of stir-fried noodles.
I would love to show my own version of my chop suey, it is cremier and tastier. 


Ingredients;
  • Garlic
  • Onions
  • Vegetable Oil
  • Fish sauce
  • Chicken liver, sliced
  • Cabbage
  • Carrots
  • Red bell pepper
  • Snow peas
  • Evap milk
  • Salt and pepper
  • Sayote

Lets' begin cooking!


1.     Suate garlic and onions

2.    Add fish sauce

3.    Add chicken liver

4.    Cover it let it cook for 10 minutes.

5.    Uncover, add pepper

6.    Add red bell pepper, carrots, sayote, string beans and snow peas.

7.    Pour milk

8.    Let it simmer

9.    Add celery and pepper to taste.

10.  Add cabbage; cook for 30 to 60 seconds.

Tiny Pork Giniling ( sauteed ground pork )


Pork giniling is my first video that was uploaded on youtube. At first, I just made this video just for fun and surprisingly I got 35,000 views in less than 3 months and many were requesting for more videos.

Anyways, Pork giniling or pork minced recipe is also a traditional dish in Spain where it is known as Picadillo and Arroz a la Cubana. 

            
In this blog, I would like to show my own version of my Pork giniling in 1:3 scale. It’s very simple, easy to cook and tastier.




Here are the ingredients:
  • Vegetable oil
  • Garlic
  • Onions
  • Fish sauce
  • Mince pork
  • Pepper and salt.
  • Water
  • Carrots
  • Green Peas
  • Potato
  • Green bell pepper
  • Tomato paste

Procedure:

  1. Heat the pan and pour the vegetable oil.
  2. Saute the garlic and onions.
  3. Add fish sauce, add the minced pork and let it cook for few minutes.
  4. Add pepper and salt, cover it and let it simmer for few minutes.
  5. Pour water, stir and let it simmer for few minutes.
  6. Add the following; carrots, potato, green bell pepper and green peas.
  7. Add the tomato paste and let it simmer for few minutes.
  8. Serve!
